New Executive Principal of the Academies of Shakopee High School Named
Jeff Pawlicki, current Associate Principal at Wayzata High School, has been named the new Executive Principal of the Academies of Shakopee High School, effective for the 2016-2017 academic year.
“Jeff is an experienced leader and will be a great addition to our high school and district,” Superintendent Dr. Rod Thompson said. “His professional experience and expertise within leadership, teacher development, and instructional improvement made him the best candidate. We feel fortunate to have such a strong person help lead us into the future and towards the Academies of Shakopee.”
Pawlicki has 16 years of experience in public education and has served in a variety of roles as an educator. He began his career as a business teacher with Eden Prairie Public Schools and has spent the past 11 years in leadership roles and earning his Educational Leadership degrees.
Pawlicki has served as the Associate Principal at Wayzata High School since 2013. Prior to that position, he served as an Assistant Principal at Prior Lake High School and Administrative Dean at Thomas Jefferson High School in Bloomington.
“I am extremely honored to have this opportunity to serve the students and community of Shakopee,” Pawlicki said. “I am excited to move into the academies model and to help lead the school in the direction of the Academies of Shakopee. I could not think of a better landing spot for me than Shakopee Public Schools.”
Pawlicki will replace Ben Kusch, who stepped down as Principal of Shakopee High School at the end of the 2015-2016 academic year.
In addition to the hire of Pawlicki as Executive Principal, Shakopee Schools also found a new leader in Sarah Jordan during the interview process. Jordan has accepted the position of Assistant Principal of the Academies of Shakopee effective for the 2016-2017 academic year. She emerged as a top candidate during the Executive Principal search. “Adding Sarah to the administrative team at Shakopee High School is incredibly exciting and we feel confident that her skills and expertise will be a tremendous asset to our district,” Superintendent Dr. Rod Thompson said.
Jordan has 17 years of experience in public education and has served in a variety of roles as an educator. She began her career as a social studies teacher with Eden Prairie Public Schools and has spent the last four years in leadership roles and completing her Education Specialist degree.
Jordan has served on the Administrative team at Eden Prairie since 2013. In addition to her duties at Eden Prairie High School, Jordan also served as the Principal Intern from 2013 – 2016. This experience allowed her to build a master schedule, allocate staffing, and administer state testing, among other responsibilities.
“I am excited about the challenge of Assistant Principal and look forward in helping build the Academies of Shakopee from the ground up,” Jordan said. “Although it is will be hard to leave my professional home after 18 years, I can already tell that Shakopee will be the place to spread my wings.”
