I got my first teaching job in New Jersey, in 1984. In 1991, my wife and I moved to Minnesota so that I could pursue a Master's Degree in Music at St. Olaf College. I have sung in a lot of choirs from Pennsylvania to New Jersey to Minnesota and sang with a European touring choir in 1979, and 1981. I also studied music performance in Siena, Italy in 1981.
Aside from singing, I also have a love of musical theater. I have done over 30 roles in community theater musical productions over many years. My wife, Ione, and I have 2 daughters and a son. All of them play an instrument and also love musical theater.
I would say my main passion with students is helping them find and improve their voice. This builds self-confidence, community-spirit, and creative and appropriate self-expression. It's never about the quality of the voice, it's just about how to be a better human!
