Volunteer with Us

  • Welcome and thank you to our wonderful volunteers.

    Volunteer Guidelines 2020-21

In compliance with the Shakopee School District’s Pandemic Response Guidelines, we are limiting non-essential visitors, volunteers, and external groups in our buildings during the school day. We value and depend on our families, community members and business partners, so have created the following volunteer opportunities. Volunteer opportunities may change as our district adjusts instruction based on the learning model that’s implemented.

    1. TAKE HOME VOLUNTEERING: Interested in helping out with "workroom" duties found in elementary schools, such as cutting, collating, sorting, etc? You can now do this at home! Contact your elementary school's Volunteer Coordinator (listed below) to help.

    2. VIRTUAL VOLUNTEERING/BUSINESS PARTNER MENTORING: Assist students virtually through an online session. To see if this volunteer option is available in your child's classroom, contact your child's teacher or school's Volunteer Coordinator. Interested in mentoring a high school student or becoming a business partner for the academies? Contact Jenny Ames. Note that virtual volunteering and business partner mentoring require a background check.
