Mrs. Keri Fiksen
My name is Keri Fiksen and I am a Special Education Teacher at Jackson Elementary School. I have enjoyed teaching in Shakopee Public Schools for over 15 years. I graduated from Winona State University with a double major in Special Education (Learning Disabilities) and Elementary Education with an emphasis in Communications Arts and Literature. I also completed my Masters degree and Reading Licensure through Saint Mary's University in order to grow professionally and implement best practices in teaching and learning. I am passionate about encouraging each of my students to succeed by developing a growth mindset and strong work ethic. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, volunteering in the community, running, hiking, kayaking, camping, and exercising in nature, and reading good books for my Book Club. My goal is to support each student I teach and enjoy working collaboratively with teachers, parents, and support staff to help all students reach their full potential.
