    Fall Update

    Where's our fall catalog?
Typically, you would be seeing our fall catalog in your mailbox this week; however, this fall, our catalog will be published online only, and it will be available a couple of weeks later than usual. We have been using the extra time to plan a variety of adult and youth opportunities that we can offer safely in these uncertain times. Offerings will include online, in-person and at-home kits. We have something for everyone, and we hope you'll join us!
While the format of our catalog will be different this fall, our commitment to deliver quality programming and excellent customer service will remain the same. Please look for a postcard in the mail early in September inviting you to visit our online catalog. In the meantime, we are here to answer any questions you may have regarding our programming. Please call 952-496-5029 with your questions. Thank you for your continued support. Enjoy the last few weeks of summer!
Early registration is available for adult classes!
Though our fall catalog may not yet be available to browse, we have opened online registration for our adult classes early! Click here to view our new line-up of fall classes! Whether you're looking to step up your game in the kitchen, learn how to finally master that sewing machine, or want to save 10% on auto insurance, we've got something for you. With our diverse mix of in-person and online classes, we are confident you'll find something that you'll enjoy!

Please note if you are registered for a program that appeared in our original catalog, and it has not been cancelled, then you are still registered.
The health of our students is our #1 priority, and we will be implementing recommendations from the Minnesota Department of Health to provide a safe in-person learning environment. Please visit our website to view the ISD 720 COVID-19 Preparedness Plan. Thank you for your continued patience during this time! We are very excited to welcome you back to our classroom!
Finally, don't forget about our financial assistance program! The proceeds of our yearly Celebration of Children 5K and 1 Mile Color Run are dedicated to providing residents with financial assistance to attend a class or activity that Community Education offers. For youth classes, contact Chris Younger at cyounger@shakopee.k12.mn.us, and for adult classes, contact Emily Starke at estarke@shakopee.k12.mn.us.

Community is the foundation of Shakopee Community Education, and we miss connecting with all of you! As we all try to navigate through these uncharted times, we are working on updating our scheduled summer activities to reflect our new reality.  We will be adding some online programs, as well as modifying current offerings to comply with social distancing and other safety guidelines issued by the Minnesota Department of Health.

If you have already registered for a scheduled class or activity you will receive an email notifying you of any changes or cancellations. We appreciate your continued patience during this time! We look forward to serving you this summer! As always, thank you for supporting Community Education.

    March 26, 2020

In response to the news that Shakopee Public Schools has extended distance learning through April 30, all Community Education classes and activities that start before May 4 will be cancelled, with the exception of a few classes which we are currently working to offer an online option for as well as Driver's Education, which will be rescheduled. You will be notified individually if you are enrolled in one of those classes.

We will be refunding your enrollment fee (pro-rated for classes or sessions that were already in session) for the class or activity that was cancelled. If a class or session extends beyond May 4, the entire session has been cancelled and accounts will be refunded accordingly.

We thank you for your understanding as we navigate this uncertain time. Please reach out to us if you have questions. We appreciate you choosing Shakopee Community Education, and look forward to seeing you in class once things return to normal. Meanwhile, we hope you are able to embrace the slower pace and enjoy some time with your family.
