About Shakopee

It's Always a Great Day to be a Saber!

At Shakopee Public Schools, it's more than an education, it's a commitment to our students, staff and community to make a difference, every day. Located in one of the fastest growing suburbs in the Twin Cities, Shakopee Public Schools is proud to serve the Cities of Shakopee, Savage and Prior Lake as well as Jackson, Louisville and Sand Creek Townships.

The district directly supports nearly 8,000 students, has 1,000+ dedicated staff members, 11+ buildings, 1.7+ million square feet of space and over 350+ acres of land, making it a truly unique community with endless opportunity.

The community also recently renewed a 2024 Safety & Technology Levy and a 2025 Operating Levy, allowing the district to maintain student learning and the Shakopee experience, in addition to providing critical student support and classroom technology, technology systems and infrastructure and related elements.

Continuing to Create Spaces Where All Students Belong

Across Shakopee Public Schools, students of all ages, abilities and backgrounds are continually learning, creating and participating together in meaningful ways.

In the 2025–26 school year, Shakopee Public Schools expanded its Unified Champion School designation districtwide, reflecting ongoing work to support inclusive experiences for students across all schools.

Through Unified programming, students across all grade levels build friendships, develop leadership skills and experience school as a place where they are known and valued.

The work begins early, too. Pearson Early Learning Center recently became just the fifth preschool in Minnesota to be designated a Unified Preschool by the Special Olympics of Minnesota, creating inclusive experiences for learners at the very start of their educational journey.

Compelling Vision

It is our moral imperative to change until all of our systems measurably work for each and every student.

It is our responsibility to make sure each and every student receives quality core instruction and develops agency when it comes to their own learning.

Our focus must be on ensuring each member of our organization maintains high expectations and provides unwavering support for each of our student learners.
