Intra-District Transfer Form

The intra-district transfer (IDT) request process is an option for Shakopee Public Schools families that are presently enrolled in the district, with an approved enrollment, and want to have their student attend another school in the district, other than the school their child is assigned to.

Click here to submit an IDT form (all school years).

There are many school district factors considered in determining whether or not an application for Intra-District Transfer will be approved and for determining the location of the student’s new place. These factors include class size limitations, school capacity limitations, current enrollment and class size comparisons between schools, reasons for transfer request, future enrollment projections, timing of the request, and the ‘feeder pattern’ of elementary  schools to middle schools. It’s also important to note that for a student with an IEP there may be additional capacity limitations and service locations may vary among our schools. Tokata Learning Center (TLC) enrollment is based upon capacity and need, as determined by the Shakopee High School and TLC Principals. The IDT form does not apply to any High School level student. Pearson Early Learning Center manages class registration directly; the IDT process does not apply.
