Represent Student Voice on the Shakopee Public Schools Board
As of May 16, 2022, Shakopee Public Schools enriched its governance structure by welcoming two Shakopee High School students to serve as ex-officio members of the School Board. For the 2025-26 school year, Shaunya Kumar (Class of 2026) and Bryan Phan (Class of 2027) serve as student representatives, providing invaluable student perspectives to the Board's deliberations.
Shakopee Public Schools is seeking a motivated and thoughtful student to serve as one of two ex-officio Student Members of the School Board for the 2026-27 and 2027-28 school years with Shaunya Kumar set to graduate in June 2026.
This is a unique opportunity for a student leader to represent the voices, experiences and ideas of students across the district while gaining firsthand insight into how important decisions are made in public education.
As a student board member, you will participate in School Board meetings, contribute to discussions on key issues impacting students and work to gather feedback from your peers to help inform district leaders. This role provides an incredible leadership experience and the chance to make a meaningful impact on the future of Shakopee Public Schools.
