Below are upcoming events, new resources and reminders for families:

Please note, the Community Action Partnership (CAP Agency), mentioned below, is a trusted community agency that serves Scott, Dakota and Carver Counties in various capacities. 

Food Insecurity Resources

  • Free Weekly Take-Home Meals: Any enrolled E-8 student can sign up to receive free, weekly take-home meals from our partner, Every Meal, on the last day of school each week. To sign up, please enroll here.
  • CAP Agency Food Options: 
    • Call 952.496.2125 and select option 1 to learn about food options.
    • Schedule an appointment for the food shelf by clicking here (in-person shopping and emergency curbside available). Each household can visit the food shelf one time per calendar month. 
    • Attend the next food distribution event on Feb. 19, 11:30AM - 12:30PM (Chaska); click here for more details. No registration required.
  • MiCasa Food Distribution: Attend on Feb. 18, 2:00-4:00PM, while supplies last. No registration required.
  • Free School Meals (Breakfast and Lunch): All E-12 students continue to receive free breakfast and lunch during the school day. No action is needed.

Energy/Heating Assistance

  • CAP Agency Energy Assistance Program (heat/electricity): Funds are sent directly to the vendor. Click here to learn more and complete an application.

  • Shakopee Public Utilities will connect with any person or family to set up a payment plan that allows temporary relief due to an interruption of employment. Click here for more info.  

Safe & Stable Housing

General Family Support

  • Scott County Family Resources Center: View the Feb calendar – which includes counseling, children's activities, law support, clinics and more – click here. 

  • CAP Agency Mental Health Group: Click here to view free February and March sessions.
  • Transportation Protocol: Palmer Bus Services will bypass morning and afternoon bus stops if there is a visible Immigrations & Customs Enforcement (ICE) presence that may endanger students or substantially interfere with transportation. If you have transportation concerns, please connect with a trusted staff member to further discuss your child’s school plan.
