Superintendent's Letter to Parents and Guardians
JANUARY 2, 2019 - Welcome to 2019! I’m excited to welcome students back to school following winter break! January is one of my favorite months of the year. It represents new beginnings, new relationships and new opportunities to learn and grow as students and professionals in a learning community.
It’s typically also a very good month to get outside and enjoy winter. In recent years, I’ve grown particularly fond of snowmobiling, especially on the Iron Range and in Voyageurs National Park.
Again, I am excited, thrilled and humbled to join the outstanding Shakopee school district as your new superintendent as we begin this new year.
Shakopee schools have a long tradition of success in providing students with an exceptional education. I continue to be amazed by the many opportunities we provide our students: full-day kindergarten programming, Young Scholars, technology in our classrooms, Project Lead the Way, CAPS (Center for Advanced Professional Studies) program and the Academies of Shakopee.
It is my most sincere desire to serve as a leader who will support and empower others. It is my primary goal to help continue to build a culture and organization that will serve students by guiding and supporting each of them in finding their passion, becoming an incredible learner, and striving to attain life goals.
I am incredibly proud to serve the communities and families of Shakopee Public Schools. I look forward to building on this community’s strong foundation and many accomplishments. Working together, we will continue the positive growth of our school district, and reach even greater heights in the future.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns, or if you’d just like to share thoughts and ideas.
