SCHOOL BOARD MEETING: School Safety Plan Development & Training

MARCH 14, 2019 - The district is currently working to update its School Safety and Crisis Management Plan.

In alignment with that work, Temporary Assistant Superintendent Dave Orlowsky, Buildings and Grounds Manager Ed Zeimet, and Assistant Director of Special Services Heidi Nistler presented information on an upcoming training for administrators and staff.

The PREPaRE curriculum has been developed by the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) as part of NASP's decade-long leadership in providing evidence-based resources and consultation related to school crisis prevention and response.

PREPaRE training is ideal for schools committed to improving and strengthening their school safety and crisis management plans and emergency response. Click here for additional information on PREPaRE training.

Up to 100 Shakopee schools staff (district admin, principals, counselors, teachers, etc.) are expected to take the first part of the training in August.
