MARCH 22, 2019 - A classroom activity allowed three high school students to become the teachers at Jackson Elementary. The juniors and seniors worked for months to prepare a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) based activity and lesson for 3rd graders in Mrs. Van Brocklin’s class.
Students received materials and worked in groups to create their own rocket. Outside their classroom, they were able to test their models with the rocket launchers. Students learned what materials worked best and which ones didn’t work well. Although the activity involved some trial and error, it was an all-around great time for everyone!
