Community Donations Send Destination Imagination Team to Global Finals
MAY 20, 2019 - Our Destination Imagination Team is headed to the Global Finals, thanks to donations from several community organizations and businesses.
“Organized Mess” placed 1st in the Improvisational Challenge at state and will now compete with students from around the world May 22-25 in Kansas City. Destination Imagination is an innovative, international educational program in which student teams solve open-ended challenges and present their solutions at competitions.
Team members include: Michael Waldorf, CJ Younger, Himani Joshi, Esther Kuah, and Payton Mason.
The team managers are Chris Younger and Sudha Joshi.
On May 16, Joshi attended the JCI Shakopee meeting for a check presentation. The JCI's voted to approve a $5,000 donation to our Destination Imagination Team.
The group also received donations from Seagate, Rotary and Shutterfly.
“I am still feeling overwhelmed by the community’s support of our students,” said Younger. "Thanks to our donors’ generosity, the students will be able to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity with minimal cost to them.”
