Library and Food Shelf at CFC For Those In Need

LIBRARY JUNE 17, 2019 - Last year, our district lost two important figures - Gary Anger and Melissa Zahn. Each one embodied the spirit of a selfless educator.

They were kind, giving and positive.  Both believed in our schools and students. In an effort to honor their memory, Central Family Center recently debuted their Lending Library and Food Shelf in honor of Anger and Zahn.

The Central Family Center Building Leadership Team came up with the idea. Two long-time paraprofessionals, Sheri Timmerman and Teresa Werner, put their skills to use to get the library and food shelf finished.

Timmerman agreed to build the structure when she heard there was a need. She and her husband spent many hours working on the design and actually assembling it. Then, Teresa stepped in to assist. “I’ve painted a lot of furniture over the years,” she said. “But I thought it might be a solid color, but the design ended up being more complex.”

“It’s a nice addition to our school community that helps support the school and people who knew Gary and Melissa,” said Timmerman. “We hope those who need it use it.”

If you would like to donate to the food shelf and the shelf is full, the main office at Central Family Center will accept your donation and refill the shelf, as needed. This summer, they are looking for items like canned goods, pasta, and toiletries. Books for all ages are welcome in the lending library.
