Public Input Sought On The Naming of Two Shakopee Public Schools Spaces

Shakopee Public Schools is seeking input from the public on the naming of two spaces in the school district.

The first is the multipurpose room at West Middle School. The Shakopee Public Schools Naming Committee, established in accordance with the school district policy 908, is proposing naming the room the Bill Farmer and Mark Neu Wrestling & Multipurpose Room. From now until January 22, 2021, the district is seeking feedback on this name proposal. To submit your input, click here. The Naming Committee will next meet to discuss this item on January 13, 2021. Submission before this date are greatly appreciated, but submissions will be accepted through January 22. A recommendation will be made to the board at their January 25, 2021 meeting.

 

The district will also consider proposals for the naming of Shakopee Public School’s “South Site.” The “South Site” is the district’s property on the corner of county roads 78 and 79 and features grass fields for soccer, baseball, softball and intramural play. Naming input will be considered from the public for this property through February 19, 2021. On March 22, 2021, the Naming Committee will make a recommendation to the school board.
