SHAKOPEE, MN – July 1, 2025 – Shakopee Public Schools is pleased to announce the selection of David Draskovich as its new Director of Finance & Operations, pending School Board approval, starting July 29, 2025. Draskovich brings a wealth of experience in K-12 public education finance and operational leadership to the district, complementing the current team that has been led by Bill Menozzi. Menozzi will be pursuing a finance role with a private company starting in mid-August.
"Mr. Draskovich (David) is coming to us from Wayzata Public Schools where he is currently serving as the Director of Finance,” shared Mike Redmond, Ed.D., Superintendent of Shakopee Public Schools. “Our interview team was very impressed with David’s knowledge, ability to connect and his dedication to building strong teams and working collaboratively. I am confident that David will be able to build on the strong foundation in our district and will lead us to an even better place in the future."
In his finance roles at Wayzata Public Schools, he has directed the development of the district's annual budget, long-range financial forecasts and property tax levies, while also maintaining robust financial controls. Draskovich’s previous experience also includes finance and operational roles at Robbinsdale Area Schools.
“Shakopee truly feels like home,” shared Draskovich. “Raised in Hibbing, Minnesota, a small city known for its strong sense of connection and shared values, I see so much of that spirit here. My wife's family resides in Shakopee, meaning my family and I are fortunate to spend many weekends enjoying this wonderful community. It's a privilege to join a district so deeply committed to educational excellence, and I'm honored to now serve the community directly in my new role."
Draskovich holds a Bachelor of Accounting from the University of Minnesota Duluth and an Associate of Arts from Hibbing Community College. He is also certified by the Minnesota Association of School Business Officials (MASBO).
