Latest School Year Resources

Shakopee Public Schools will be participating in the Summer Food Service Program.  Lunch will be provided to all children (ages 0-18) in the community at NO CHARGE Monday - Friday, June 8, 2026 - August 21, 2026* from 10:30AM - 12:30PM at Pearson Early Learning Center.

Acceptance and participation requirements for the program and activities are the same for all regardless of race, color, national origin, gender, age or disability and there will be no discrimination during the meal service. 

All meals must be eaten on site at Pearson Early Learning Center. Registration is not required.

Community Resources - Meals

Free early childhood screenings will be available this summer at a neighborhood near you thanks to the Pearson Early Learning Center and Scott County Readmobile teams! No appointments necessary. Walkups welcome.Trained professionals carefully evaluate a child’s language, motor and problem solving skills as well as social/emotional development and health history. Vision and hearing are also checked. Referrals to community resources are provided as needed.

Free Storytime Summer 2026

This summer, Shakopee Public Schools is partnering with Scott County Library to bring books, storytime fun and summer reading opportunities directly to families across the community.

Students and families can check out books all summer long using their student ID at two convenient locations:

Wednesdays | 1:00–4:00 p.m.
June 17–August 12

📍 Sun Path Learning Commons & Media Center
Fridays | 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
June 26–August 14
(Closed Friday, June 19 & July 3)

Summer hours for the Welcome Center will be in effect June 8, 2026 - August 7, 2027. The Welcome Center and District Office will be open to the public Monday - Thursday from 8:00AM - 4:00PM during this time period.
