Shakopee Public Schools is excited to offer families Stopfinder, a FREE and optional app designed to make school bus transportation smoother and more predictable. 

Thanks to Shakopee’s partnership with Palmer Bus Service, families, starting in the 2025-26 school year, can now access safe and accurate, up-to-the minute PreK-12 bus route information right on a smart phone or tablet.

Stopfinder allows approved guardians to easily:

• See bus pick-up /drop-off times and locations. 
• Track your child's bus location during their active route.
• Get alerts when the bus is near.
• Share access with caregivers, your child and/or family members.

(PreK-12 bus times/locations are also available in Infinite Campus)

Did You Know? Every type of vehicle used by Palmer Bus Service for Shakopee Public Schools students – including vans and all buses – can be tracked in Stopfinder by approved guardians.

Four Easy Steps

1. Install: Get the FREE Stopfinder app.
2. Email: Find your personal invitation email (sent to the primary parent/guardian listed in Infinite Campus).
3. Activate: Click the link in the email (one per household).
4. Explore: See schedules, create alerts (like when the bus is near!) and share with others.

Bus Stop Change Request

The City of Shakopee was awarded over $270,000 in Safe Routes to School Infrastructure Grants from MnDOT in the spring of 2025. 

$72,000 will fund a safer crossing near Shakopee High School and a new sidewalk connection to Sun Path Elementary.

$200,000 will support a safer crossing and roadway improvements on Adams St, benefiting both Sweeney Elementary and Lions Park.

These high-priority projects from our Safe Routes to School Plan will be constructed in 2026 and are part of the City's continued commitment to increasing walking and biking safety for students and families in Shakopee.

PLANNING TO RIDE THE BUS? OPT-IN REQUIRED FOR GRADES 9–12. Starting Fall 2026, eligible high school students must opt-in to receive bus transportation. 

To better align transportation services with student needs, Shakopee Public Schools is implementing a new bus transportation opt-in requirement starting in the Fall 2026 for High School students in Grades 9–12. Students may select morning and afternoon transportation or opt-in for only one. Selecting bus service for specific days of the week cannot be accommodated.

Nonpublic School Transportation - Reimbursement Request and Agreement

Please submit one request per family, even if your students attend more than one nonpublic school. After submission, District staff will verify eligibility, service dates and the approved reimbursement amount directly with the nonpublic school for the 2026-2027 School Year per District Policy 708.
