Community Education to Manage School-Age Care Program Starting in Fall 2026

Starting in the 2026–27 school year (Fall 2026), Shakopee Community Education will fully manage operations of the K–5 School-Age Care Program currently provided by the YMCA and will also manage before/mid/after care services offered at Pearson Early Learning Center for families enrolled in Stepping Stones Preschool.

Thanks to grant funding from the United Way and countless hours from local Shakopee businesses, a group of Academies of Shakopee High School educators recently had the opportunity to participate in a specialized training experience to boost this vital professional development need, and build connections between industries and the classroom.
