Shakopee Community Education provides classroom and Behind-the-Wheel driver's education instruction for students ages 14.5 and older. Students who attend Shakopee Public Schools or live in the school district will receive priority status when registering.
Please contact the District Office 6 weeks after receiving a permit and once you have completed 10 hours of Behind-the-Wheel with a parent/guardian. Once you have notified the District Office, an instructor will be in contact with you to set up Behind-the-Wheel driving sessions. Please note there is up to a 6 week wait time for Behind-the-Wheel. Please do not schedule your driver's test until you have had at least one Behind-the Wheel lesson with an instructor.
Registration is on a first come, first-served basis. The individual who is responsible for registering the student must include the student's full first, middle and last name on the registration form. There is a maximum of 40 and a minimum 15 students per class session.
