The Tokata Learning Center is a Minnesota State-approved alternative program. We serve students in grades 9 through 12 in the Shakopee School District and surrounding areas.
Tokata is a Native American word meaning "future", which fits not only the cultural heritage of our community, but also the mission of the TLC to provide students with the education they need to help them reach their goals and establish a bright future.
Eric Serbus, Ed. S.Principal952-496-5982If you're looking for small school setting where students are encouraged, supported, and held accountable look no further. The staff at Tokata Learning Center (TLC) place a high priority on relationships and results. Small class sizes, block scheduling, and a daily intervention period leave students who come to TLC feeling connected and supported. Likewise, a variety of academic options, including independent study, computer-based learning, and seat-based classes challenge students to demonstrate personal and academic growth. We acknowledge that not every student thrives in a large high school setting. Therefore, we strive to provide a personalized education to all of our students in a safe, supportive atmosphere.I am very grateful to have the opportunity to lead the efforts at Tokata Learning Center. It is a wonderful building with a terrific staff and exceptional student body. If you have any questions about the Tokata Learning Center feel free to call or email any time.Nickole Koep, Ed.
