MAUD HART LOVELACE CHILDREN’S BOOK AWARD
STAR OF THE NORTH PICTURE BOOK AWARD

The Maud Hart Lovelace Children's Book Award and the Star of the North Award are Minnesota children's choice book awards.  Their purpose is to encourage recreational reading among school age children.  Jackson Elementary promotes the Maud Hart Lovelace Award by introducing the program to the students and encouraging them to read the book selections so that they can vote on their favorite in March.

The Maud Hart Lovelace award is for students in grades 3-5  (chapter books)
The Star of the North award is for students in grades K-2  (picture books)

Students in Grades 4 & 5 are learning about the MHL book award contest and have been invited to participate.  Students must read at least 3 of the books and fill out an online summary form in order to attend the voting party in March.  All summaries need to be turned in by March 21.  The summary link is below.
