• Starting with the 2015-2016 school year, all Kindergarten Physical Education students will be graded based on their progress towards three  key national standards from SHAPE America.  They will be given a 1, 2, or 3 each quarter to communicate their progress towards meeting each standard.  The rubric below indicates how students can demonstrate their level of progress.  If you have quetions, please contact the PE teachers at your convenience.

    1-skill is limited requiring significant teacher help

    2-inconsistent demonstration of skill

    3-consistent demonstration of skill

    Demonstrate motor skills and movement patterns needed to perform activities

    Standard 1

    Student does not attempt skill or movement pattern

    Student attempts skill or movement pattern

    Student independently completes skill or movement pattern

    Exhibits responsible personal and social behavior in Phy.Ed. settings

    Standard 4

    Student does not exhibit sportsmanship, cooperation, or direction following behavior

    Student exhibits sportsmanship, cooperation, or direction following behavior in class, with occasional teacher reminders

    Student consistently exhibits sportsmanship, cooperation, or direction following behavior

    Actively participates in physical education class

    Standard 3:E2

    Student participates inconsistently during skills and/or activity assigned

    Student participates in skills and activities with occasional reminders

    Student participates fully in all skills and all activities
