English Learners in Shakopee
I'm excited to be your English language teacher this year!
This will be my second year working at Shakopee Public Schools, but I have worked with grades K-5 since 2015.
In my language teaching, I focus on supporting bilingualism and multiculturalism, getting students excited about learning, and helping your students develop new language skills and ways of thinking. I think that students learn best when they have a say in what they learn, and I will incorporate their interests into our daily classroom activities and projects. We will have a lot of fun this year and learn lots from each other!
When I'm not at work I love to spend time outdoors, especially hiking and playing sports. If I can't be outside, I love to quilt, play board games, cook new recipes, and cuddle with my cat and new puppy. I also love to travel and have been to almost 20 countries, and over half of the 50 states!
