My name is DeAnn Gendlin and I am the school social worker, 504 coordinator and special services facilitator at Jackson Elementary School. I joined the Jackson team in August 2014. I have been working as a school social worker since August 2006 and thoroughly enjoy all aspects of my job.
My role at Jackson Elementary includes involvement with our special education team (supporting both students and parents in the special education process); a core member of our PBIS team to help support a positive school climate for all staff and students, providing groups for students to support their social/emotional development; tracking and supporting attendance for all students; providing support and resources for parents/guardians to best support their students; plan and develop all 504 plans for students; coordinating the Good to Go Kids food program at Jackson Elementary (provides weekend food for participating families) and supporting administration.
My husband and I have two highly energized daughters. Our family loves to go camping, we love to hike all over Minnesota and the surrounding states, going to cabin retreats, we enjoy cooking healthy meals, playing tennis, working out, traveling, going on bike rides and spending quality family time.
I feel so fortunate to work at a school that is truly committed to student success!
