I have been the principal at Red Oak since the doors opened in the fall of 2002. Before that, I served as the principal of Pearson Elementary School in the Shakopee school district for six years and as the principal at Maple Lake Elementary School in Maple Lake, MN for four years. I was also a teacher on special assignment/assistant principal in the Osseo, MN school district for two years as I was working to obtain my elementary school principal licensure.
My teaching career includes teaching 5th grade in the Osseo school district for 4 years, one year of teaching 5th grade in my hometown of McGregor, MN, and one year of teaching 5th grade and two of teaching 7th grade at Ojibwa Indian School in Belcourt, ND. My educational experiences include earning my Masters Degree in Educational Administration from St. Cloud State University and my Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from Bemidji State University.
As the principal at Red Oak Elementary, I enjoy working with a very dedicated staff who work together with our parents, students, and community to provide the very best educational opportunities we can to make learning real, meaningful, fun, and effective. I believe strongly in the notion of “continuous improvement”; that we should always be working to be just a little bit better, a little bit more effective, each and every day. For this reason, I encourage you to contact me with any ideas, suggestions, questions, or concerns you may have.
