Welcome to an exciting year at Shakopee East Middle School!  I am the East Middle School Connections class teacher. I have my Bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, with my Master’s degree and Reading Specialist license from Hamline University in St. Paul.

Our Connections class goal is to grow! Our Connections class community is all about positivity, self awareness and self management, social awareness, responsible decision making,and also relationships, academic and life skills. . We will grow in our  understanding of ourselves and our world.  We will accomplish this with a variety of activities and resources that we will use both individually and together. It will be a great year of growth! 

I do not assign homework, but do expect my students to devote time to success in their other classes as well as taking time to read every day. It is through reading that we can learn a lot about ourselves and our world. I believe reading is a life skill and also a life joy!
