Learning Commons Circulation Policies

  • Loans Periods for Learning Commons Materials

Materials from the SHS Learning Commons are circulated to students for a loan period of 21 days.  Students may check out up to 3 print books at a time, along with 3 digital books on MackinVIA.

After 21 days, print books that have not been returned or renewed are considered overdue.  Books may be renewed online (within 3 days of due date) or in the Learning Commons as long as the material is not on hold for another student.  Students should renew or return overdue materials before checking out new books.

Digital materials (eBooks and Audiobooks) will automatically be returned to MackinVIA or Libby at the end of the loan period.  Students may renew these materials within 3 days of the due date if there are no existing holds by students or staff.

    Overdue and Lost Books

No fine will be assessed for overdue materials, but students are encouraged to return materials as soon as they are done using them.

Students do not have to pay fees for lost books; however, they can make a donation that goes toward the replacement fee if they wish.  Students with lost books should tell Learning Commons staff so we may re-order the book for other students to enjoy.

Access to Scott County Library Materials

Students may also check out print and digital materials at the Scott County Library with their Virtual Student Library Card.
