Greetings and welcome to Shakopee High School! I'm looking forward to my 9th year in the district as we start another school year. I have over 20 years of experience in public education and have served in a variety of roles as an educator. I began my career as a business teacher with Eden Prairie and Bloomington Public Schools and have spent the past 19 years in leadership roles. Previously, I served as an Associate Principal at Wayzata High School. I also served as an Assistant Principal at Prior Lake High School and Administrative Dean at Thomas Jefferson High School in Bloomington.
I earned my BBA in Marketing from Western Michigan University. After working in business for a few years, I went on to obtain my M.Ed. in Secondary Education/Business from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. In 2006, I received my Education Specialist Degree and K-12 Principal Licensure from the University of St. Thomas.
I live in Shakopee with my wife, Krista who is an Instructional Coach in Independent School District 196 and the Varsity Tennis Coach at Shakopee High School. Our daughter, Olivia, is a proud Shakopee graduate and attends Colorado State University where she plays on the women’s basketball team. We always enjoy attending Shakopee High School events and have now added Colorado State University events to our list. We also enjoy traveling to as many places as we can.

I am extremely fortunate to be serving the community as a high school assistant principal at Shakopee High School. I look forward to continuing the impactful work in the Academies of Shakopee. The Academy model offers tremendous opportunities for all students to achieve success, by focusing on their interests and passion, and coupling that with college and career preparedness through intentional course work and a partnership with business and industry.
I have 25 years of experience in public education and have served in a variety of roles as an educator. Prior to my tenure at Shakopee High School, I held the position of Administrative Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA) at Eden Prairie High School. I also served as Q-Comp Coach/Observer for three years, and before that, as a social studies teacher, volleyball and basketball coach and student council advisor for 15 years.
I earned my BA in Psychology from the University of Minnesota, where I also had the privilege of competing at the Division One level as a Women’s Gopher basketball student-athlete. I went on to obtain my M.Ed. in Secondary Education/Social Studies from the University of Minnesota. Most recently, I received my Education Specialist degree and K-12 Administrative Licensure from the University of St. Thomas.
I live in Eden Prairie with my husband, Crawford and my daughter Vanessa. Our son, Devin, is currently a class 3 cadet at the Air Force Academy. We enjoy supporting our children in all of their activities and sports. In addition, we are avid Gopher fans and love to travel.
I am looking forward to the start of a new school year at Shakopee High School. Before starting at Shakopee, I taught Health and P.E. for a combined thirteen years at Rush City High School and South St. Paul High School. During that time, I also served as the Head Girls' Varsity Basketball Coach and Assistant Varsity Football Coach. In 2011, I joined Shakopee Public Schools as Dean of Students at the junior high school for one year before coming to the high school to my current position as Assistant Principal.I earned my B.A. in P.E./Health Education from Concordia College - Moorhead. I then went on to obtain my M.A. in Organizational Management with an emphasis in Sports Management from Concordia University, St. Paul. My most recent education experience was with the University of St. Thomas, where I received my Ed. Specialist Degree and K-12 Principal Licensure. I live in Shakopee with my wife, Erica, who is a counselor at Shakopee High School. We have three daughters: Raelynn, Kinsley, and Harlo. In my free time, I enjoy staying active outdoors, spending time with my family and supporting them with all of their activities.

952.496.5169I am so excited to continue to serve the Shakopee community!
This is my 23rd year as an educator; for the first 16 years, I was an English/Language Arts teacher, and a large part of my teaching career was at Eden Prairie High School. I transitioned into a Q Comp Coach/Peer Observer role for Eden Prairie Schools and served as the Eden Prairie district Q Comp Coordinator for a year after earning my Educational Specialist degree from Minnesota State University, Mankato. For my first three years as a school administrator, I served as the assistant principal of a Hmong k-8th grade charter school in Brooklyn Center.
I grew up in Cambridge, MN, and graduated from Concordia College, Moorhead, with a degree in English and Psychology. I started my unofficial teaching career in Japan, teaching English as a Foreign Language to Japanese students aged 4 - 84. By the time I returned home to Minnesota, I knew that education was my career area of choice.
I live in Bloomington with my husband, Kent, and my daughters Katy (20), an Augsburg student, and Sophie (18), and, when they are around, my three stepchildren. Kent’s son, Elliot, is a student at the University of Iowa; his daughter Abby just graduated from Arizona State University in May and is hoping to start law school next fall; and his eldest son, Ethan, just started medical school at Temple University in Philadelphia. While we miss having all the kids at home, the holidays are a lot of fun and a good chance for us all to reconnect!

EmailIt is exciting to begin my 3rd year at Shakopee High School. I have been in education for 25 years, the majority as a math teacher, but have truly enjoyed the last 10 years as a Dean of Students. Since coming to Shakopee, I have worked primarily with 9th graders, getting them used to the high school pace, learning about all the Academies and making sure they take the right steps for their future.
Education has always been a passion for me, and I embrace the chance to assist students in whatever may come their way.
I am a Shakopee resident as well and enjoy spending time with my wife and three kids. I also enjoy sports, music, walking my dog and traveling…whenever I get a chance.

EmailI am very excited to return as Dean of Students at Shakopee High School in support of scholars and their families and support networks.
Prior to joining the SHS team, I taught Social Studies at an Area Learning Center for over a decade. My favorite day as an educator is graduation day because it was the culmination of all the work that students had put in towards a personal goal. I am looking forward to celebrating students as they strive for their goals throughout their SHS journey and again at graduation and beyond.
To prepare for and continue to grow in my educational career, I earned a B.A. in Social Studies Education from St. Olaf College, a M.A. in American History & Government from Ashland University, and an Ed.S. degree and administrator license from Concordia University-St. Paul.
I currently live in Burnsville with my wife, Amber, our children Ella (age 8) and Wyatt (age 4), and our dog Oatmeal (age 1). My family enjoys attending concerts, visiting parks and museums, spending time at the extended family cabin, and traveling anywhere and everywhere.
