Q. Do I need to be a Shakopee resident to register for a Community Education class?A.
Anyone may register for a class, event, or program offered through Shakopee Community Education. (However, Driver's Education students who live within the Shakopee school district boundaries will receive priority status when registering for this class.)Q. If I decide to cancel from a class I am registered for, can I get a refund?A.
Refunds will be made only under the following conditions:
1. If your class is filled to capacity before your registration is received.
2. If your class is cancelled by Community Education.
3. If you cancel your registration one week
BEFORE the class begins, we will refund you the class fee, less a $5 processing fee. No refunds will be given on or after the class/event start date.Q. How do I know if I am in a class once I have registered?
A. If you provide us with an email address, you will receive an emailed confirmation. Otherwise, there will be no confirmations sent to you. You will be contacted only if the class is full or cancelled.
Q. How will I know if my class is cancelled?
Community Education will notify you immediately if a class is cancelled due to severe weather, low enrollment, or for any other reason. Therefore, it's helpful if you provide you email address and the best phone number to reach you when you register.
Q. Is there a discount for those who are 55 and older?
A. Yes! Adults, ages 55 and up, can take one community education class per catalog for half price, unless otherwise noted. Certain classes such as our Driver Discount Program classes, trips and tours are exempt from this discount. Contact our office to verify which classes are eligible for the discount.
