Community Use of School District Facilities

  • We take pride in our schools and encourage their use. The Shakopee Community Education office coordinates the use of school facilities under the regulations approved by the Board of Education to assist groups and organizations in the use and rental of school district buildings and facilities. Community members and organizations are invited to apply to use district facilities for their meetings and activities. Our office coordinates all citizen requests for building usage for after school, evenings, weekends and summer months. All requests must be made three weeks in advance of the activity. Requests for large groups involving 200 or more people must be made several months in advance. 

    A facility request form must be submitted at least three weeks before the proposed activity is to be held. Your request will be given every consideration, however, if another event has been planned using the same space or your request does not meet insurance, supervisory or other obligations by our facility use rules, your request may be denied. Please plan your activities early and with as much concern to detail as possible.
