It will take place on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 8 a.m. at Sun Path Elementary.

GLOmies is a peer-to-peer mentor program that works to create and sustain a culture of inclusion and acceptance for all students at Shakopee High School. The primary goal of GLOmies is to create connections between general and special education students through structured social experiences.

GLOmies started in 2014 and takes place twice a week during the school day. Special education students are partnered with one or two 12th grade general education students in the GLO (Great Leadership Opportunities) class. During their time together, students participate in various activities including (but not limited to) athletics, arts & crafts, games, dance gatherings, scavenger hunts, fundraising events, field trips, and themed parties. GLOmies was the recipient of the 2018 Faces of Change award through PACER's National Bullying Prevention Center.

The Inclusion Revolution is spreading in Shakopee! East Middle School started its very own Junior GLOmies program in the 2017/2018 school year.
