Principal Mitch Perrine to Retire

Mitch MONDAY, JULY 13, 2020 -- Long time principal at Red Oak Elementary, Mitch Perrine, will retire at the end of the month after serving 38 years in education. Mitch has been with Shakopee Public Schools for 24 years and has been the only principal at Red Oak Elementary. In Shakopee, he also served as the principal at Pearson Elementary (1996-2002) and has also worked in school districts in Osseo, McGregor and in Belcourt, ND. 

 

Mitch says that in retirement he will miss the people the most, “Red Oak has a strong sense of family and community where we all work together to do what is best for kids as a team.”

 

“Shakopee has been my work home for 24 years and I cannot think of a better place to have had the opportunity to work with such outstanding teachers, staff, parents, kids, and colleagues.  I am thankful to have had so many great people to share my educational journey with.”

 

Work is being started in preparation for hiring a new principal at Red Oak Elementary.
