Shakopee High School named The Willis E. Branning Excellence in Youth Employment Services Award Winner

Congratulations to Shakopee High School for being named The Willis E. Branning Excellence in Youth Employment Services Award Winner. The award, a part of the Dakota-Scott Workforce Development Board’s 2020 Legislative and Employer Awards, recognizes an organization that is committed to preparing young people aged 14-24. Shakopee High School, home of the Academies of Shakopee is committed to improving student success in post-secondary programs and career.

 

“We are proud to receive this award,” said Shakopee High School principal Jeff Pawlicki. “With the commitment and dedication of our wonderful teachers, community and business partners, we are able to introduce students into careers they may never be aware of in the areas of human services, health science, arts and communication, business and entrepreneurship, engineering and manufacturing and science and technology. Our Academy model along with our CAPS program is all about creating those authentic, real-life experiences that help students make the connection between what is being learned in the classroom and how that translates into possible career opportunities in our own backyard.”

 

The Dakota-Scott Workforce Development board oversees employment programs in Dakota and Scott Counties.
