Former Shakopee Community Education Director Receives Lifetime Achievement Award
During the Minnesota Community Education Association (MCEA) annual conference in February (2023),former Shakopee Community Education Director Bob Greeley received the Lifetime Achievement Award.
The MCEA Lifetime Achievement Award is presented to an individual with 20+ years of leadership in the field of Community Education who has made exemplary contributions to advance the goals and principles of Community Education locally and throughout Minnesota.
Bob started his career in Community Education in Breckenridge, MN in 1981 as Community Education and Parks and Recreation Director. In 1992, he joined Shakopee Community Education and served as Director until his retirement in 2021.
Through Bob’s Community Education work, he has continually brought people together. In his years of service, he has been part of the Rotary Club, Lions Club, Diversity Alliance committee and the Shakopee State Amateur Baseball Tournament Committee. Bob also served as a mentor to current and new field community education directors. He served MCEA as a Co-Chair of the 1996 Fall Conference and also served on the Board of Directors and the Legislative Committee. Bob’s high values, positive attitude and service to others have made him a top leader in the field.
