At our middle schools and high school, I have the privilege of working with teachers through coaching and professional development. In 2011, I joined Shakopee Schools and taught English at West for six years before becoming a coach. I have my M.A. in Literacy Education, B.A. in English Education, and Reading K-12 Certification from St. Mary’s..

I have the pleasure to work with teachers at both Shakopee middle schools as well as the high school. I have been teaching in Shakopee the majority of my career, since 2008. I have a B.A. in Life Science Education from Winona State University, my M.A. in Educational Leadership from Saint Mary’s University and my Ed. S. degree from Minnesota State University Moorhead.

I became an instructional coach in 2017 and think it is the best job in education.  I still get to be in classrooms and work with students but get so much satisfaction from working with teachers.  I learn something new every day from them and know that I have grown as an educator because of the unique opportunities that this position provides.

I started teaching math and physics in 2005 in Shakopee, and since then I’ve taught everything from basic math skills to calculus-based physics. From 2012-2015 I worked part time as a Digital Learning Coach, where I gained experience working with a wide range of K-12 teachers. I have a B.A. in Physics, Math, and Education from St. Olaf College, a masters in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Minnesota, and I’m currently working on a specialist degree in Educational Leadership at Concordia University. I’ve spent my career in Shakopee, and I am thrilled to be able to continue here by learning with other teachers as an instructional Coach.
