Operating levy dollars pay for educational programs and day-to-day operations of schools, including teachers and staff support. Approximately 60% of Shakopee Public Schools operating budget is spent on teacher salary and benefits. Another 20% is spent on other people, those providing services to our students and community. 

Additionally, a total of 84.36% of the operating budget is spent directly on student-based items. The below graphic illustrates Shakopee Public Schools student-based expenditures in comparison to neighboring districts.
