Joe Theis, Class of 1953
Joe Theis spent 32 years as a financial advisor and is a lifelong contributor to the Shakopee community, his church and community projects. Joe graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. He taught for 7 years in the Edina School District.
Barb Weckman Brekke, Class of 1989
Barbara Weckman Brekke practices law in Shakopee and has been involved in the community through 4-H, Dollars for Scholars, Rotary and serves on the Board of Di- rectors for St. Francis Medical Center. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture Industries and Marketing and a Master’s Degree in Agriculture and Applied Economics from the University of Minnesota. She graduated cum laude from the University of St. Thomas Law School.
Charlie Vig, Class of 1978
Charlie Vig is the Chairman of the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community. Prior to becoming Chairman, Charlie served as the Vice Chairman and on the Board of Directors. He also served as the Vice President of Facilities at Mystic Lake Casino Hotel. Charlie has continued the community’s tradition of giving back to charitable organizations.
Joan Peck Lynch, Friend of Shakopee Public Schools
Joan received a Bachelor of Arts in social work from the University of Minnesota. She worked for 20 years for the CAP Agency, serving those in our community in need. She served on the Shakopee School Board from 1981-1990 and has spent more than 40 years volunteering in our schools. She was also a member of the Shakopee City Council from 1993-1996 and served on the Shakopee Public Utilities Commission from 1998-2007.
