    Menu planning is always a challenge and Shakopee Food Service has several factors that guide the choices made when planning school meals. These factors include choosing foods that are popular to the students, meet USDA Dietary Guidelines and fall within the food service budget - not an easy task but one we take very seriously. 

    Aside from the traditional menu planning system, Shakopee Food Service also uses a USDA approved nutritional analysis software.  This program assists us in planning the school meals following the USDA guidelines for calories, fat and saturated fat.
