  • Calling all current 10th Grade Shakopee students! Are you ready to shape the future of Shakopee Public Schools? This is your chance to amplify student voices and directly impact the decisions that matter most.

We're seeking one passionate 10th-Grade leader to serve as a student ex-officio member on the school board for the next two years.

As of May 16, 2022, Shakopee Public Schools has welcomed two (2) Shakopee High School students to serve as ex-officio members of the School Board each year. Michelle Sieberg (Class of 2025) and Shaunya Kumar serve as student representatives for the 2024-25 school year. This unique opportunity allows selected students to collaborate with school administrators and advocate for fellow peers while developing hands-on skills in board governance and business operations.

If you're driven, articulate and eager to make a real difference, we invite you to explore this opportunity and submit your application to become a vital part of the district's leadership.

Applications were originally due by April 9 - NOW EXTENDED THROUGH APRIL 11!

Interviews will occur the week of April 14 (exact dates/time TBD).

The final candidate will be recommended to the School Board during the April 28 Meeting (candidate is welcome to attend).
