Kristi Peterson, Board Vice Chair
Kristi Peterson moved to Shakopee in 1999. She and her husband are the proud parents of a graduate from Shakopee High School.
Kristi served as School Board Chair since joining the Board in 2018 through January 8, 2024; she is presently the Vice Chair.
Kristi graduated from Ellsworth Public School in Ellsworth, Minnesota and attended Augustana University, earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications and Journalism. She went on to attend the University of St. Thomas where she earned a Masters Degree in Business Communications.
Kristi has worked in the marketing and communications profession for more than 20 years and is currently employed as a marketing manager. She has volunteered with various community associations and organizations, including the Shakopee Girls Fastpitch Association, LPGA Amateurs Golf Association and the Salute to Service Womens Golf Classic.
Kristi presently serves on the Minnesota State High School League's (MSHSL) Board of Directors. She also serves as the President-Elect of the Minnesota School Board Association (MSBA).
Kristi served on the District’s Excellence and Operations Task Force Committee, Design Committee for the Performance area of the High School and is a member of the Shakopee Education Endowment Foundation (SEEF).
Kristi was also virtually recognized by the Minnesota School Boards Association in January 2021 and received a Leadership Development Certificate for her extensive time and commitment to the Association's school board development series. This recognition showcases Kristi's commitment to the Shakopee School Board, staff, students and the community.
Kristi is an avid sports fan, specifically the Minnesota Twins and Minnesota Golden Gophers women's basketball team. She also enjoys golfing in the summer.
