It is the intention of the River Valley YMCA and school district to provide high quality care to students grades K-5. Care will be available to all families enrolled in both Shakopee IHD and Shakopee Online programs. It is our goal that everyone has access to care 5 days a week. Below is a summary of district childcare available. If you are currently enrolled and need to update your schedule, please reach out the YMCA directly.

Program Options:
YMCA - Full Day Care (6:15am-6:15pm)
YMCA Before & After School Care
Rates: Rates are based on one-full day of care and for each child that rate is $40. There are special discounts for Shakopee Public Schools staff members, as well as free care, for Tier 1 Essential Employees. The YMCA also has scholarships for families in need. Please contact the YMCA for specific details by calling 952-230-6661.
If you are a Tier 1 Essential Employee, you must sign up for the YMCA before receiving Tier 1 discount application. During registration, you may be asked to enter credit card information or pay an enrollment fee. These fees will be reimbursed/waived once this application is filled out and your family meets the requirements for Tier 1 rates. Please note that the Minnesota Department of Education, under Executive Order 20-94, updated the guidance and criteria related to Tier 1 discounts and eligibility. The update can be found here.
